President’s greeting

Dear Visitor,

On behalf of the Hungarian Association of Local Governments (MÖSZ), welcome you in our website. Our aim is to assist the municipalities’ work by Internet, make our Association’ activities visible and bring it with information, downloadable documents, EU and home knowledge closer to the mayors, local representatives and all interested person and organizations.

MÖSZ is an efficient Association, which provides, promotes and protect the local government’s interests. The credibility and professional accuracy are important for us to give responses linked to the community decision- planned government measures and legislative initiatives, which influence the lives of local people and local governments at all.

In order to ensure efficiency and awareness of activities, all stakeholder’s participation are needed, which can only be achieved when local governments as true partners and not merely as intermediaries, therefore it is essential for our Association to contribute to the multi-level governance into practice in order to a well- functioning democratic system.

We have members from the Hungarian villages, small settlements, towns, cities and also from the Budapest (capital) districts and counties (territorial governments), who take it important to work in cooperation and make the common municipality’ issues visible responding to the national/governmental concepts. We are working together in a spirit of local self-government’s protection, as EU fundamental value.

In today’s world, with our highly trained experts and EU team with experience contributing with the Internet, we would like to transmit, expand and develop the repository of information for you.

Wish you effective browsing in our website.
